ECHING, September 2008  – at the IBC (booth 9.C40) and cinec 2008 (booth 3-D20) the Wendelin Sachtler Academy presents their workshop schedule for autumn 2008. The seminars offer professional support and practical experience in lighting arrangement, HDTV workflow and camera stabilization. The participants can select their appropriate level, from basic to continuation courses, whose contents are coordinated between each course. 

Under the guidance of experienced lecturers such as cameraman Leo W. Borchard, Professor Dr. Johannes Mueller or Operator Curt O. Schaller the participants receive the basic theory for the corresponding topics. After a thorough discussion about the equipment as well as its safe and optimal use, the participants start the practical part of the workshop. The Wendelin Sachtler Academy has a studio in Eching, Munich and so is perfectly suited to high calibre and wide ranging training units. In the context of the different workshops, the seminar participants have the opportunity to work with and extensively test the appropriate Sachtler equipment. In addition, they can be trained with their own equipment.

Modular and practical

This modular workshops system is suitable for amateurs and professionals, who would like to extend their level of knowledge in the areas of lighting arrangement and HDTV workflow as well as working with a camera stabilization system. The workshop "Basic Camera Stabilizing System" is particularly popular with participants and so is offered three times: It takes place twice in Eching and once in Moscow. During the seminars exercises, the participants’ current knowledge is strengthened and they are able to use it in practical applications. In addition to this, contacts can be made with other film technicians from the industry during the workshops. At the end of the course, the graduates receive a certificate from the Wendelin Sachtler Academy, which is a recognised certificate for their future vocation.
