Speedbalance for first class operation!
Video 18 SB and Video 20 SB at IBC 2006

Eching, Germany, September 2006 – With the new Video 18 SB and Video 20 SB fluid heads, Sachtler has further expanded its SPEEDBALANCE generation in the run up to IBC 2006. Now the latest technology is also available to heavier ENG cameras. The new heads offer significantly finer counterbalance graduation. While the Video 18 SB features 10-step counterbalance and a payload of up to 18 kg
(40 lb), the Video 20 SB offers 12-step counterbalance and a maximum payload
of 25 kg (55 lb). Both heads have a sliding range of the balance plate of 120 mm (4.7"). This is a significant increase in the case of the Video 18 SB, compared with the existing Video 18 Plus and its sliding range of 70 mm (2.8").

With sales of over 50,000 units, the Video 18 is one of the most successful
ENG heads in the world – one reason why further enhancement to the head has created so much excitement. Just before IBC 2005, Sachtler launched five new SPEEDBALANCE fluid heads. With their payload ranges of 1 to 16 kg / 2.2 to
35.3 lb, the five heads – Video 15 SB, DV 12 SB, DV 8/100 SB, DV 8 SB and
DV 6 SB – offer high-precision and extremely fast counterbalance for all digital camcorders from broadcast to MiniDV. Each of the heads is also available in total system packages that include a tripod, spreader and cover or padded bag.

When developing these new fluid heads, Sachtler has continued to follow its secret of success – step switching. It allows camera operators to optimally balance the fluid head and camera in no time at all. While stepless systems often require time-consuming adjustments by trial and error, graduated-step counterbalance gives you perfect set-ups on demand.
