Sachtler ™
A Vitec Group brand
Sachtler, a Vitec Group brand, introduces its first LED on-camera light: Reporter 8LED. This compact, powerful new light fixture requires the power input of just 8 watts yet produces a light output of 250 lumens.
This new luminaire is designed to offer all the advantages of the latest LED technology. Professionals will enjoy the benefits of the low-energy consumption, the exceptionally long lifetime of the LED, and a remarkably low failure rate. The unit’s minimal heat generation allows it to be set up extremely close to the object being filmed. With an input voltage range of 6 to 24 volts, the fixture is ideally suited for work with everything from compact 7.2 volt HDV camcorders to popular broadcast cameras, and in various applications such as in a car.
The Sachtler Reporter 8LED is available in a standard daylight version. However, an exchangeable LED module makes it a simple matter to convert the fixture to a tungsten light. Operators can also make quick, tool-free adjustments of the beam angle by replacing the lens module. The unit’s rotatable 4-leaf barndoor frame detaches easily through its quick-release mechanism, allowing for fast and easy lens changes.
Reporter 8LED has been engineered and constructed with a special emphasis on durability, compactness and flexibility. Its rigid, waterproof aluminum housing is designed for both long life and to enable work in extreme shooting situations. The unit measures just 3.15" (8cm) long, with a cross-section (without barndoors) of 2.4" x 2.4" (5.2 x 5.2 cm) and a total weight of under 0.9 lbs (0.4 kg) – making it an unobtrusive addition to day-to-day mobile production.
The luminaire’s double-jointed extension arm with camera shoe or 1/4" threaded screw allows for various mounting options either on or off camera. Three different accessory sets provide users with a wide range of lighting design solutions and configuration possibilities.
