Those with rhythm in their bones will have an advantage at the first ever Camera Stabilizing Systems Workshop in Russia. That’s because the camera stabilizing system only really starts to flow like a dancer when the operator learns how to lead it like one: calmly and with full concentration.
ECHING, 24.05.07 – For the very first time, Sachtler, Camera Dynamics GmbH and its partner D&K are organizing a combined artemis Camera Stabilizing Systems Workshop in Russia. Participants at the five-day
workshop – which runs from 1–5 October, 2007 – will be trained in both the theory and practice of the artemis systems. One of the Sachtler Academy’s key priorities is to convey practical know-how that can be directly applied to the reality of day-to-day shooting.
A comprehensive introduction to the equipment starts things rolling: Nothing is left out – from the compact DV Pro rigs right up to the Cine HD Systems. Under the direction of professional cameramen Curt O. Schaller (Germany) and Igor Wotintsew (Russia), workshop participants will learn a host of tips and tricks that will allow them to nurture stunning pictures through expert camera operation. How to professionally adjust the rig, vest and spring arm is an essential part of the workshop program as is the Fundamental Physics that needs to be considered during a shoot with a camera stabilizing system.
Those taking part in practical exercises to develop guidance techniques and footwork will require a good deal of concentration and calm camera operation. The participants will soon realize which skills they need to hone in order to perfect their shooting. The operation of camera stabilizing systems is rapidly increasing on sets all
over the world. The Sachtler Academy has responded by offering its artemis Camera Stabilizing Systems Workshops worldwide, employing professional lecturers and top-class equipment to impart the necessary know-how with regard to technical innovation. See www.sachtler-academy.com for more information about the Moscow workshop, including registration opportunities.
