Wendelin Sachtler Academy

Eching, July 2008  – the Wendelin Sachtler Academy again offers from 7th - 10th October 2008, a workshop on "Basic camera stabilizing systems", in its studio in Eching, Munich. Under the expert guidance of operator Curt O. Schaller, the theory and practice of camera stabilization are learned.

The course is suited to professionals and ambitious amateurs, who would like to acquire basic knowledge in working with a camera stabilization system. The participants do not need to have the appropriate equipment: they can work with professional equipment, which is made available free of charge, from the academy workshop or alternatively use their own equipment. Emphasis is made at the "Basic camera stabilizing systems" seminar, on such things as the physical basics, system, vest and spring arm adjustment as well as learning different handling and movement techniques.

Fit for purpose
At the beginning of the workshop, a thorough technical introduction to the complete equipment as well as theory units on static and dynamic balance, appear in the programme. The different steps for preparing the camera and system are discussed in detail and cameraman Curt O. Schaller will show different movement techniques, which can then be practised in the studio and outdoor area. Besides the theory and practical exercises, exchanges of ideas and experience will occur during the workshop.

The four-day workshop costs 980, - Euro (plus VAT).
