New Video 20 S1 fluid head tested with DSLR camera

Eching / Germany, NAB 2010 - German film director Marko Vucic and his team were among the first to test the new Video 20 S1 fluid head made by Sachtler with a DSLR camera shooting HD videos. The Video 20 S1 is the latest model of the ENG / EFP Video 20 head.

Marko Vucic has been working with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. “The new Video 20 S1 combines reliable quality with new features. Together with DSLRs, the movie tube PR and the Zeiss Compact Primes CP.2, which we favour, it is a fantastic combination. However, since such a system quickly runs up a weight of 15 kg or more, it must be used with the 100 mm tripod. Only then is it possible to work efficiently and precisely with the relatively small camera, which is not optimized for filming.“ The payload of the Video 20 S1 now starts at 2 kg instead of 7 kg and ends at 25 kg.

Counterbalance increased by 4 steps

The counterbalance of the Sachtler Video 20 S1 has been increased from 4 steps up to 16 steps, providing for especially fine adjustment. Important functions for daily production include the Boost Button for a quick payload range shift, parking positions for spare camera screws, a Touch & Go plate, as well as the Sachtler Speedbalance Technology. Marko Vucic says, “Even minor technical improvements and simplified handling are worth more than gold for those working every day with this equipment.”
