The legendary briefcase out of the cult film „Pulp Fiction“ falls at the feet of a young man. Without a worry, he opens it and is one of the few to see the fascinating lucent contents. His assumed luck however is not to last - the briefcase gets stolen. But no one suspects that whoever has seen the contents awaits a terrible fate!
"DER FILM MIT DEM KOFFER"
The Director Christof Reiling shot the script of “Der Film mit dem Koffer” (The Film with the Briefcase) in and around Stuttgart at the end of January 2009. What makes this project so special is the fact that not only experienced pros and dedicated new comers, but also young talent from the area´s film and media were worked side by side. Due to the tight time schedule, heavy rain and muddy grounds, high demands were made not only on the 15 member film team, but also on the equipment. The producer Marko Vucic reports: “We know that Sachtler fluid heads and tripods have excellent handling properties and are lightweight and extremely robust. That is why we also chose Sachtler luminaires for the lighting and we were not disappointed.“
GREAT LIGHTING EFFECTS DESPITE CONTINUOUS RAIN
During shooting of “Der Film mit dem Koffer“, the team had to deal with extremely poor weather conditions. “The lighting conditions
were constantly changing, sometimes it poured down and at other times the sky was crystal clear“, Marko Vucic explains. “With the high-quality and robust Sachtler Reporter 270DI and Reporter 21D Micro Sun lights we were able to illuminate the location with indirect as well as direct light in order to replace the natural sunlight.“ The high-performance Reporter 270DI is especially suitable for such shoots: At a distance of five meters to an object it offers more than 9000 Lux light performance.
A TIGHT TIME SCHEDULE AND “SHORT” DAYS
Due to the tight time schedule and the numerous shooting locations, the assembly and disassembly had to be done fast. According to Marko Vucic, “Sachtler equipment is perfect for such situations because it is lightweight and mobile. The luminaires hardly develop heat so that you can transport a 270 watt lamp after 30 minutes operation time without a problem. It was getting especially tight towards the end of the first day of shooting. The sun set earlier, but we really wanted to get the remaining shots done. The Sachtler daylight luminaire provided the half hour we needed.“ For the post production, the team collaborated with the Stuttgart V4 Media GmbH who often provide their know-how for certain new generation productions, just like Sachtler does. As soon as the post production is completed the film will be shown at short film festivals in the cinemas.
