Sachtler ™
A Vitec Group brand
The show moves on: After the world’s largest trade convention has closed its doors, there’s not much time for most of the 1,400 exhibitors to unpack their bags – the highlights for the next congress show in the 2007 season need to be prepared. As the NAB once again showed, only those who bring innovative products with them, score big. Like Sachtler, for example, its NAB congress team took home three awards for new products from the USA. A clear indication that Sachtler products are shaping the future.
Strength in unity: Camera Dynamics Business Unit
For the first time, Sachtler was represented by a 400 square meter booth as a member of the Camera Dynamics Business Unit – together with Vinten, Vinten Radamec and OConnor. Such cooperation is part of a concept that is gaining popularity: “More and more manufacturers and their partners are working together. Full service in every aspect of camera workflow is a growing trend – a fact that was clearly displayed at the NAB” according to Jürgen Sommer, Director of Brand Development in the Camera Dynamics Business Unit. The integration of different systems and cooperation between manufacturers reflect the current demands being made by customers. “Our cliental are delighted that, with the integration of Sachtler into the Camera Dynamics family, they now have access to new generations of products that combine the very best technologies available.”
In terms of overall interest, Sachtler was also part of a growing trend: the Sachtler team was kept busy greeting NAB organizers and more potential overseas buyers at the combined Camera Dynamics Business Unit booth, than ever before. This was directly reflected in their sales figures at the exhibition: four artemis camera stabilizing systems flew from the fair to their new homes in South America, and two systems were also purchased by European customers.
Combined excellence: Successful new products
The new fluid heads FSB 2 and FSB 6 and the FSB CELL all met with great interest – not just from visitors to NAB, but also from the experts. The fluid head FSB 6 was presented with three awards at the congressevent. The new heads will be available shortly in the USA and will be launched worldwide at the IBC. And to give users a preview, we will introduce these products in detail in a special newsletter in the very near future.
The newest model in the artemis series, the artemis DV Pro FX, and the new spring arm ACT 2 for large systems, both attracted huge numbers of visitors to the stand. At the artemis “hands-on” exhibit, experienced operators Billy Parks (USA) and Curt O. Schaller (Germany), both showed just how far you can go with the revolutionary camera stabilizing systems. “The visitors almost had to stand in line to test the systems. After a short time, there was a real trail left behind on the stand’s floor from all the prospective operators going up and down with the artemis”, reports Jürgen Sommer. With its new turnkey solutions, Sachtler convincingly demonstrated that its products are HD-ready and that HD camera operators can rely on the classic Sachtler qualities: innovation, robustness and reliability.
