Sachtler’s multifunctional SOOM has already received five awards. Now the versatile camera support tool has won the Good Design Award 2008 (GDA) in Japan. The GDA is Japan’s most important design prize and is awarded by a jury mainly made up of product, graphic and industry designers. They focus on concepts and designs that will influence the lifestyle of coming generations.

In addition to the GDA, SOOM has won important industry awards like the DV Black Diamond Award, the TV Technology Star, the Vidy Award, the Digital Content Producer Pick Hit as well as 4EVER Group’s Product Innovation Award. Each jury was impressed by the tool’s unique modular and multifunctional concept: at low weight, three individual elements can be variably combined, thus offering a wide range of possible applications. The “Works with SOOM” series offers products completing the GDA-awarded system perfectly: the Sachtler FSB 2 and FSB 6 fluid heads, FSB CELL battery system as well as the Reporter 8LED on-camera light.
