Sachtler ™
A Vitec Group brand
In 2000 Tassanee and Karl Morsbach founded the BaanGerda Project to provide a home for orphans in Thailand infected with HIV. Today 80 children live there, cared for by foster parents and medical specialists. In an effort to promote this worthy project to the public which is financed by donations the organisation is preparing a documentary film about BaanGerda. Sachtler is providing support by giving the project’s filmmakers a Fluid Head DV1 and Tripod ENG 75/2 D equipped with a mid-level spreader to use for their filming.
"We are excited about the support given to children infected with HIV and are pleased to be able to help with this important project“, explains Sandra Rademacher, Marketing Assistant at Sachtler. The world market leader of professional camera support systems is involved with several other projects, which help the plight of others, including BaanGerda.
Living and laughing without worries
As opposed to traditional homes for children, the living situation for the orphans in BaanGerda is more like being in a family, each family unit is supervised by either two widows or a married couple, who also carry the HIV virus. The daily activites in the village are geared to the children’s infection, which requires constant medical attention. Nevertheless, the children are able to develop like most other healthy children growing up in a family. The activities of the organisation help the children of BaanGerda experience the thing they need most: carefree laughter and love.
