The 100mm head with cine features

The attractive for film and HD

Sachtler’s Cine 7+7 HD is a high-performance fluid head in the 100mm bowl-mount field that boasts a 16-step counterbalance mechanism to permit the operator to precisely balance the camera package. The head also provides seven grades of drag (+0) for both horizontal and vertical movements, and offers a range of typical cine features. Those features include the sideload mounting mechanism for the camera plate that allows 150mm (5-inches) of travel for setting the center of gravity. The head also provides for mounting of a front pan bar. The Cine 7+7 HD has a payload range of 2 to 22 kg (4.4 to 48.5 lbs), which allows it to fulfil the camera support requirements for (H)DV, HD and film. The Cine 7+7 HD is an attractive and lighter weight alternative to 150mm heads with similar performance specifications.

On the road: Thomas Rist and the Cine 7+7 HD

The Great American Roadtrip, promoted by Audi in the United States, required a great deal of flexibility. While on a cross-country tour that spanned several weeks, German free-lancer Thomas Rist shot four individual projects for Audi at once – a documentary, Web reports, TV reports and commercials. Realizing the production challenges those different projects presented, Rist chose to carry Sachtler’s new Cine 7+7 HD along. In doing so, the German cameraman was one of the first who worked with this fluid head. He is enthusiastic about its versatility.

The Cine 7+7 HD –
Convincing features

The sideload mechanism for the camera plate guarantees fast mounting and dismounting of the camera, and thus flexible working. The camera’s long sliding range of 150mm (5-inches) allows optimal balancing of the camera.

The sideload clamp of the camera plate ensures that the camera is securely locked, and keeps it from releasing inadvertently. The clamp can only be closed when the camera plate is properly inserted.

The 16-step counterbalance guarantees a closely stepped balancing of the camera system. Seven horizontal and seven vertical adjustable grades of drag  (+0) ensure jolt-free pans and tilts.

The fluid head can be used with a wide variety of cameras. The payload range can be switched between “High“ and “Low“ with the Boost Button according to the weight of the camera.

The parking position for spare screws (Pin, ¼“, 3/8“) ensures that the operator can quickly locate the correct mounting hardware no matter which camera is being used.

The head’s control elements, including the brake lever or pan bar, are the same as those found on the Cine 30 HD head, and provide a host of benefits to the operator. Manufactured in a 2K process from a variety of hard plastics, the elements are exceptionally hardy, which significantly reduces the danger of skidding or slipping, especially in the often hectic production business.
